Sheriff Chad Chronister reminding sex offenders of Halloween rules

Registered sex offenders in Hillsborough County cannot hand out candy, decorate for Halloween or leave their porch lights on for the holiday. Before sending children out

trick-or-treating, parents can visit the Florida National Sex Offender Database to see if any sex offenders may be living near them or in neighborhoods they plan to visit: https://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/sops/search.jsf

Sheriff Chronister and deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will go
door-to-door today, October 30, visiting the homes of registered sex offenders to make sure they understand the rules and are in compliance.

Media outlets interested in shadowing Sheriff Chronister today are asked to meet at the front entrance of Orient Road Jail, 1201 Orient Road in Tampa, at 3:30 p.m.
