Major Mayra Rivera is the Division Commander for the Community Outreach Division. Major Rivera was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in Tampa, Florida. She attended the University of South Florida where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology.
Major Rivera began her career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in 2005. She has served as a Deputy in Patrol Services and as a Detective in the Special Investigations Division. Before her current position, Major Rivera held supervisory roles in Patrol District III, to include the FTO squad, Street Crimes Unit, and the General Offense & Intelligence Unit. She was also the Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division.
