Before You File a Registration Online

 

Filing a false registration is a crime.

Before filing a registration online you must verify you meet the criteria listed below:

  • Incident happened in Unincorporated Hillsborough County
  • You are 18 years or older
  • Not an emergency (Call 9-1-1 for emergencies)
  • Not an in-progress crime 
  • Not in immediate danger

After You Complete an Online Registration

After you complete the registration online you will:

  • See the words "Your online registration has been submitted" showing that your registration is complete.
  • Receive a confirmation email that your registration was received.

Registration Process

  • All registrations filed online will be reviewed by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
  • Upon review, if more information about your registration is needed, you may be contacted.

Registration Copies

If you need an official copy of the registration you filed online, please visit our Records Request Center. There is  a 36 hour process time for review and transcription of the registration.

Add Information to a Registration

If you have already completed a registration, either online or in person with a police officer, you can add additional information such as text and pictures.

Before Adding More Information to Your Registration

Have the following information available before adding more details to your registration:

  • Report number
  • Officer name who filed report
    • * only if the report was taken by an officer and not filed online
    • * if you are unsure of the name enter "Unknown"

Not all registrations can be filed online. If a registration is not listed in the category selection list, call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 for non-emergencies. For all emergencies call 911.

Register cameras that are installed on the outside of your residence or business. The cameras must be owned by you not another individual.

HCSO K.ID (Child Registration)

Register your minor child with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and provide vital information with a fingerprint card to facilitate the identification in the event that your child becomes missing/endangered.
