The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 15-year-old in connection with the stabbing of another juvenile.
On August 24, 2026, at approximately 3:06 p.m., deputies responded to the 7-Eleven located at 2371 E Shell Point Road after reports of a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found a juvenile victim with a stab wound to his arm. Deputies rendered aid and applied a tourniquet. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they are now listed in critical but stable condition.
Through investigative means, detectives learned that a fight involving a group of teenagers occurred on the sidewalk along Shell Point Road, which resulted in the victim being stabbed.
Following leads, detectives identified Stephon Roundtree, 15, as the suspect in the stabbing. Deputies located and detained him a short distance away.
Roundtree was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Weapon.
“Violence of any kind has no place in our community. We will always act swiftly and decisively to hold those responsible accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I want to thank our deputies for their fast response and lifesaving actions on scene. Their quick thinking made the difference for this young victim.”
The investigation remains active. Any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
