The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a second suspect in connection with a shooting that injured an innocent bystander in Brandon.

On August 12, 2026, at approximately 9:03 p.m., deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Landon Preserve Circle after reports of shots being fired.

Deputies arrived and located a victim who had been shot in the arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives identified the shooter as Key'rion Sincere Austin, 17. 

After further investigation, detectives have arrested a second individual for their involvement in this case.

The investigation determined Taurean Sanders, 19, was armed with a firearm while robbing a victim during the incident. 

On September 11, 2026, he was taken into custody and is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery with a Firearm (Less Than $750)
  • Possession of a Firearm During Commission of Felony 
  • Dealing in Stolen Property
  • Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device

"Our detectives continued to investigate this case until everyone responsible was held accountable," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Let me be clear, if you bring violence into our neighborhoods, you will face the consequences in Hillsborough County.
