The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is among the largest suburban Sheriff's offices in the United States. We are a respected enforcement agency with over 160-year history of success driven by integrity, honor and dedication. We not only have a history of stability and excellence, but we continue to maintain and cultivate the highest level of standards and professionalism throughout our agency.
HCSO, has initiated the inception of the Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) philosophy into the office and the results are proving to be substantial. Since its initiation in 2009, the county's overall crime rate has continued to decline. This innovation in policing is a strategic, future-oriented and targeted approach to crime control. This policing model focuses upon the identification, analysis and management of persisting and developing problem or risks. HCSO, attributes the determination and commitment of the deputies, their civilian support teams and the cooperation with citizen and civic groups for the continued success of this innovative policing philosophy.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is a strong advocate of and is committed to employing our U.S. veterans. These admired and respected men and women uphold many of the same values that are a critical part of our agency's core values and overall culture. We are proud to offer Veterans' Preference to eligible applicants.
