Department of Support Services

Colonel Preston Hollis commands the Department of Support Services for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

A Tampa native, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida State University in 2000 and graduated from the Florida Police Corps in 2001.

He began his HCSO career the same year, serving seven years in Patrol and three as a Field Training Deputy before becoming a Detective in 2007.

His investigative experience spans domestic violence, crimes against children, homicide, and Professional Standards/Internal Affairs.

Promoted through the ranks from Corporal to Major, Colonel Hollis has led Field Training, Professional Standards, and Criminal Investigations Division teams, earning a reputation for fairness, integrity, and results-driven leadership.
