Name change fingerprinting is not done by HCSO, it is done through the Tampa Police Department.

Identification Section Location Services

The following services are only available at the Identification Section Location:

ID Theft

Forms provided by the Identification Section or downloaded ID Theft form from FDLE’s web site. Out-of-state victims can download the ID Theft form from FDLE website and go to their local law enforcement agency to be printed. The printing agency must mail the forms to FDLE.

Canadian Immigration / International Immigration Exiting the United States

The Identification Section will furnish the fingerprint card specific to this purpose.

Guardianship

The Identification Section will furnish fingerprint card specific to this purpose.

These can be obtained at the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

CCW License Fingerprint Card

The Florida Department of Agriculture processes all State of Florida CCW applicants.

State Fingerprinting (FDLE)

General Public Requests

Fingerprint background search requests by the general public are handled at the state level by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)

Information regarding inquires from an individual requesting a background check by fingerprints on his or her own Identification Record or proof that a record does not exist.

To request a personal review by fingerprints at the state level contact FDLE at:

National Fingerprinting (FBI)

General Public Requests

Fingerprint background search requests by the general public at the National level are handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI.

Personal Requests

Information regarding inquiries from an individual requesting a background check by fingerprints on his or her own Identification Record or proof that a record does not exist are handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

To request a personal review by fingerprints at the national level contact the FBI to have forms and fingerprint card mailed to the individual or they can be downloaded from the FBI website (offsite link).
