Major Colleen Handrick is a Florida native who grew up in South Florida. Major Handrick came to the Tampa Bay area to attend Saint Leo University and graduated with a BA in Criminology. She started her career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2002, patrolling in District 1. While in District 1, she was a Field Training Deputy and a DIU and General Offense Detective. In 2017, she entered the supervisory ranks.

Prior to being promoted to Major, she supervised District 3 patrol, District 3 latent investigations, District 5 patrol, and the Homeland Security Division before returning to District 5 as the Captain.

Major Handrick was a member of the 26th session of the Florida Executive Development Seminar and is currently on the Carey Family Brandon Boys & Girls Club Advisory Council and the Mosaic Riverview Community Advisory Panel.
