The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested Corbin Hunkele, 21, a recent detention cadet, on charges related to child pornography.
The investigation commenced on July 4, 2024, following a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating someone at a residence within Hillsborough County was uploading child pornography. Hunkele, who joined the Sheriff's Training Academy in April, was identified as a suspect in this case following detailed investigative efforts.
Throughout a thorough investigation, detectives uncovered evidence linking Hunkele to the possession and distribution of child pornography, leading to his arrest.
"It is alarming and disappointing that an individual seemingly aspiring to serve and protect our community would engage in such despicable activities," said Sheriff Chronister. "The swift and decisive actions taken by our detectives in this investigation demonstrate our dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. No one is above the law, and we will continue to ensure that those who violate the trust of our community are held accountable. I applaud our detectives for their diligent work and prompt response."
