The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after multiple armed robberies.
On January 18, 2025, HCSO deputies responded to multiple calls reporting an individual robbing several gas stations at gunpoint.
Through investigative means, detectives identified the vehicle linked to the crimes, revealing the car was a rental.
HCSO detectives contacted the rental company and, using information from the rental agreement, identified Ian Charles Gasperson, 29, as the individual who had rented the car.
In addition, an acquaintance of Gasperson reviewed surveillance footage from the robberies and positively identified him as the suspect in all three incidents.
On January 19, 2025, Gasperson was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Gasperson is facing the following charges:
- Robbery with a Firearm (Less Than $750) (Firearm - Possess) (x2)
- Possession of Controlled Substance (x2)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility
“I am incredibly proud of our detectives for their quick actions in ensuring this dangerous individual was taken into custody,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “At HCSO, we are committed to protecting our businesses and community. Let this serve as a clear reminder that violence has no place here, and those who commit such acts will be held accountable.”
