The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate.
On August 28, 2024, Jack Daniel Knox, 37, reported experiencing stomach pain to detention staff and was transported to Tampa General Hospital.
On September 3, 2024, Knox went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced deceased at TGH.
HCSO is conducting a death investigation and will follow up with the Medical Examiner's Office for an official cause of death.
The Public Affairs Office will release any further update.
