The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.
On March 21, 2020, around 1030 p.m., deputies were called to the 6200 block of 43rd Street North for reports of a shooting. Once on scene, deputies located shell casing and learned two victims left in private vehicles to go to the hospital.
One victim went to St. Joseph's Hospital Main, where he was pronounced deceased. The other went to AdventHealth, with non-life threatening injuries. The second victim left the hospital before deputies arrived, was stopped by a deputy and escorted to St. Joseph's Hospital Main.
At this time, this does not appear to be a random shooting, and there is no threat to the public.
