The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested three additional individuals in connection with a murder, each facing charges of tampering with evidence.
On October 21, 2025, HCSO's 911 Dispatch Center received a call of a shooting in the 10000 block of Country Hollow Drive where Trevaun Johnson, 17, was found deceased inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation revealed the incident began as an attempted armed robbery involving several individuals.
Detectives identified additional individuals involved, including Cordaryl Johnson, 18, who sustained a gunshot wound and was later arrested for Second-Degree Felony Murder, Armed Burglary, and Attempted Armed Robbery.
Further investigation showed that evidence related to the shooting was taken to a hospital in Pasco County, where there were attempts to hide or discard items from the vehicle. That evidence was later recovered and linked back to the scene through forensic analysis.
As a result, additional individuals were taken into custody on March 20, 2026, by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office on warrants charging them with Tampering with Evidence and Perjury:
- Edward Lee, 28
- Dariana McLean, 20
- Stephanie Wollitz, 38
“This case shows our commitment to getting to the truth and holding everyone involved accountable. Trying to hide or tamper with evidence will not stop us from finding the facts,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to ensure justice is served.”

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for a deadly shooting in Tampa. At approximately 9 a.m. on December 4, 2025, deputies arrested Cordaryl Johnson Jr., 18, for the murder of Trevaun Johnson, 17.
On October 21, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., HCSO's 911 Dispatch Center received a call of a shooting at the 10000 block of Country Hollow Dr. Once on scene, deputies located a deceased male with upper body trauma.
"For months, an entire community has lived in fear as a senseless act of violence stole a life and shattered their peace," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "By making this arrest, our detectives have restored a sense of safety that this neighborhood deserved."
Johnson Jr,. is charged with:
- Murder in the Second Degree With a Weapon by Person other than Person Engaged in Robbery
- Armed Burglary of Conveyance With Assault or Battery (Firearm Discharge)
- Robbery With a Firearm (Less Than $750) (Firearm Discharge)
The investigation is ongoing, and the Public Affairs Office will release any further updates.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Tampa.
On October 21, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., HCSO's 911 Dispatch Center received a call of a shooting at the 10000 block of Country Hollow Dr. Once on scene, deputies located a deceased male with upper body trauma.
Shortly after, two individuals arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds and are now in stable condition. The deceased individual has been identified as Trevaun Johnson, 17.
“There is no situation in which this level of violence is acceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The safety of this community is our top priority, and we will continue doing everything in our power to protect it.”
At this time, detectives believe this to be an isolated incident, and contact has been made with all parties involved.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Public Affairs Office will release any further update.
