From Takeover to Takedown

On March 21, 2026, at 1:19 a.m., a 19-year-old driver was performing donuts and burnouts in active traffic, shutting down Benjamin Road and Barry Road.

When deputies arrived, the driver fled, nearly striking pedestrians and driving into oncoming traffic, but it didn’t last long.

#teamHCSO deputies deployed the Grappler and safely disabled the vehicle.

The driver, Calixto Gabriel Anaya, 19, was arrested and faces charges including street takeover, reckless driving, and felony fleeing to elude.

The passenger, Kierstin Mckenzie Robb, 17, was also arrested for drug possession and carrying a firearm.

“Street takeovers are dangerous, reckless, and put innocent lives at risk,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our deputies acted quickly and used the Grappler to safely bring this situation to an end before anyone was seriously hurt. If you choose to put our community in danger, you will be held accountable.”
