The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Corrections led a joint operation that resulted in multiple arrests.
The collaborative operation, which took place on December 13, 2024, led to significant results in combating recent crime trends across Hillsborough County.
The results of the operation include:
- 146 Traffic Stops
- 17 Arrests
- 2 Firearms Seized
- $1,400 in U.S. Currency Seized
One notable arrest occurred during a traffic stop near North 15th Street and East Fowler Avenue in Tampa when deputies arrested Brandon Landaverde, 19, after finding a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. During further investigation, it was found that he is a three-time convicted felon and was in violation of his probation.
Landaverde was arrested and charged with the following:
- Carrying Concealed Firearm
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm x2
- Violation of Probation: Fraud-Credit-Card
- Violation of Probation: Unlawful Carrying Concealed Firearm
- Violation of Probation: Fraud Use of Personal ID
- Violation of Probation: Carrying Concealed Firearm
- Violation of Probation: Obstruct Crime Investigation
"These results highlight the importance of proactive partnerships between agencies to keep our community safe," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "By working together, we're making it clear that illegal activity has no place in Hillsborough County."
