Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder

­The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man following a shooting that caused serious injuries.

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 3:40 a.m., HCSO deputies responded to a possible shooting in the 1100 block of Fowler Avenue in Tampa. When deputies arrived on scene, they located two female victims, each with a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Through investigative means, detectives established an altercation had taken place and identified Addy Ortuno Arroyo, 20, as the suspect involved in the shooting.

Ortuno Arroyo was arrested on January 30, 2025, and taken into custody without incident.

He is facing the following charges:

  • Discharge Firearm in Public or on Residential Property 
  • Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm or Deadly Weapon Firearm - Discharge (x2) 
  • Attempted Murder in the First Degree Premeditated Firearm - Great Bodily Harm (x2) 
  • Attempted Murder in the First Degree Premeditated Firearm - Discharge 
  • Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon 

"Our team worked tirelessly to identify and arrest the suspect responsible for this senseless act of violence," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Thanks to our detective's dedication, this individual will now be held accountable for his reckless actions. We remain committed to seeking justice for the victims and ensuring the safety of our community."
