UPDATE: June 17, 2024, at 10 a.m.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a homicide in Tampa.
On Monday, June 17, 2024, HCSO's Communication Center received a call just after 6:35 a.m. of a possible deceased person in the 1300 block of South 78th Street in Tampa.
Once on scene, deputies found a deceased adult male with upper body trauma. Through investigative means, our detectives discovered the victim had died from a gunshot wound.
"After this tragic loss of life, we urge anyone who has information about this homicide to come forward and assist our detectives," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Your cooperation is vital to bringing justice to the victim. Please get in touch with our detectives if you have any information that can help in this investigation."

On Monday, June 17, 2024, just after 6:35 a.m., deputies responded to the 1300 block of South 78th Street to the report of a deceased adult male. At this time, the cause of death is unknown.
