Arrest Made in June 4 Homicide

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested the man responsible for a homicide that took place in Tampa on June 4, 2024.

On June 14, 2024, detectives arrested Dayhan Ruenes Vinet, 32, for the murder of Yalexander Jimenez Felipe, 47.

Vinet has been charged with:

  • Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon
  • Robbery Firearm or Deadly Weapon $750 or More, but Less Than $20,000
  • Dealing in Stolen Property
  • False Information on a Pawnbroker Form

"I hope this arrest can help our victim's family begin their healing process," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "As Your Sheriff, I can assure you that our detectives never rest until justice is served. The tenacity they work each case with is unrelenting and ensures that crimes of this magnitude have no place in our community."

June 4, 2024

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a homicide investigation in Tampa.

On June 4, 2024, at 6:34 a.m., HCSO received a 911 call regarding a deceased male in a ditch near East Chelsea Street and Racheal Falls Drive.

When deputies arrived, they found Yalexander Jimenez Felipe, 47, with upper body trauma. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen something related to this crime to call HCSO at 813-247-8200.

"Our detectives are diligently working to collect all of the information to uncover the circumstances that led to this crime," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are dedicated to bringing justice to the victim and their family and identifying those responsible for this loss of life."
