The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is on scene at Newsome High School in Lithia, where we are conducting an investigation into a potential threat.
HCSO's School Threat Assessment Response Team received a tip regarding this potential threat at approximately 8:47 a.m.
Our deputies are systematically maneuvering through the school to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
At this time, no one is permitted to enter or leave Newsome High School.
Parents, please do not attempt to pick up your children at the school, please park across the street at the Shops at Fishhawk.
At this time no firearm has been located.
