Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man following a stabbing that caused serious injuries to a victim.

On May 9, 2025, at 7:05 p.m., HCSO deputies responded to a call regarding a possible altercation in the 12000 block of University Club Drive in Tampa. Once on scene, deputies located a victim who had been stabbed in the upper body, causing great bodily harm. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Through investigative means, detectives identified Curtez Frazier, 22, as a suspect in the stabbing. On May 20, 2025, Frazier was taken into custody without incident.

Frazier is facing an Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon charge.

"This was a violent and deliberate act, and there is no place for that in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Thanks to the determined efforts of our deputies and detectives, a dangerous individual is now behind bars and facing justice."

Fraizer was released from the Florida Department of Corrections on February 6, 2025, after serving three years for charges including Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

This is an ongoing investigation and any further information will come from the Public Affairs Office.
