The life and legacy of retired Hillsborough County Sheriff Cal Henderson will be honored at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at The Regent located at 6437 Watson Road in Riverview.
In addition to Sheriff Chad Chronister and his Command Staff, current and retired members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, longtime community leaders, and visiting law enforcement agencies, the celebration of life will be open to members of the public to attend.
Due to the funeral procession, morning commuters may experience traffic delays between approximately 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the areas of Lithia Pinecrest Road (County Highway 640) from Bryant Road toward Bloomingdale Avenue and westbound Bloomingdale Avenue to Watson Road in Riverview. Drivers should find an alternative route or give themselves additional time due to delays.
Limited public parking will be available at The Regent. Additional overflow parking will be available just north of the venue at Symmes Elementary School, located at 6280 Watson Road in Riverview.
There will not be a procession to a cemetery after the service. The Henderson family will hold a private gathering open to family and close friends.
