Suspected Murder-Suicide Under Investigation in Tampa

UPDATE: August 14, 2024, 11 a.m.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the two individuals involved in last night's murder-suicide. 

The adult female victim is Zelica Martucci, 67, and the adult male has been identified as Philip Martucci, 75, who succumbed to a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

"This is an unimaginable tragedy, and our hearts break for the families and loved ones affected by this senseless loss," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Violence like this is never the solution. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragedy."

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and the Public Affairs Office will provide any further updates.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Tampa.

On August 14, 2024, at 6:37 p.m., The HCSO Communications Center received a call regarding two possible deceased individuals in a parking lot at HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital located at 6001 Webb Road.

Once deputies arrived on the scene, they found two deceased individuals, a woman with gunshot wounds and an adult male with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This appears to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the general public.

This is an ongoing investigation, and the Public Affairs Office will provide any further updates.
