Fatal Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Crash

JULY 25, 2024, 11:45 P.M.: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash involving a three-year-old.

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, just before 7 p.m., HCSO deputies responded to the 7500 block of Pitch Pine Circle in Tampa to the report of a toddler who was struck by a vehicle.

The toddler was riding his bicycle with siblings and a parent in the Place One Condominiums parking lot when a Toyota RAV4 turned a corner and struck the child.

The toddler was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"This is a devastating and heart-wrenching tragedy for everyone involved," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they navigate this unimaginable grief."

At this time, no criminal charges are pending.

This is an active investigation: any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
