UPDATE January 16, 2025

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested another individual in connection to the shooting of an off-duty ATF agent.

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 11:07 p.m., HCSO's Communication Center received a call of a shooting at The Alley at Southshore, located at 10221 Big Bend Road in Riverview.

Through investigative means, identified Tia Heyward, 23, as someone who aided the shooting suspect after the incident.

On January 15, 2025, Heyward was taken into custody after an arrest warrant was obtained and is now facing the following charges: 

• Attempted Murder in the First Degree Premeditated Firearm, Great Bodily Harm (Accessory After the Fact)

• Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm/Death (Accessory After the Fact)

• Simple Battery x2

"Our detectives have worked tirelessly to ensure that all those responsible for this senseless act of violence are held accountable and face the consequences of their actions," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Our prayers remain with the ATF agent as he courageously embarks on his road to recovery. His bravery and selflessness exemplify his dedication to protecting our community."
