Sheriff Chad Chronister reappointed to Statewide Council on Human Trafficking

Attorney General Ashley Moody has reappointed Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister to a full term with the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking.

The council is a collaboration between local, state and federal officials working to provide services and support for victims of human trafficking.

Last year, the National Human Trafficking Hotline reported that Florida was the third-highest state in the nation for the number of calls to its emergency hotline. A total of 466 human trafficking cases were reported in the state.

Sheriff Chronister’s term on the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking runs through June 30, 2024.

Sheriff Chronister shared the following remarks regarding the announcement of his reappointment:

“I am proud to continue working with the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking and honored that Attorney General Ashley Moody has entrusted me with this great responsibility. Together, we will hold human traffickers accountable and help victims become survivors here in Hillsborough County and across the state of Florida. Super Bowl LV is still slated to come to Tampa in 2021, and it is sure to bring an influx of visitors. We must ramp up our efforts now more than ever to create greater community awareness of this issue and let potential victims of human trafficking know that they are not alone and there is help available.”
