UPDATE 2: A murder suspect faces a new charge after attempting to solicit an inmate within the Falkenburg Road Jail to kill a prime witness in his homicide case.
On Thursday, April 6, 2023, detectives arrested Jadon Christian Felix Saunders-Rigueur, now 19, with Solicitation to Commit Murder. A cooperating inmate came forward and presented detectives with information that Saunders-Rigueur was trying to get someone to kill a prime witness in his case. The suspect was already in custody awaiting trial for a homicide in Brandon.
"Rather than taking the time to reflect on his poor actions and feel remorse over his first offense, this man continues to choose a life of crime, going as far as to attempt to cut someone's life short for his perceived gain," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. " It's sickening to see the lengths he will go through to harm others. There is no doubt that the diligent work of our detectives led to this witness's protection."
Saunders-Rigueur remains in custody and is under strict restrictions to protect the witnesses and the integrity of these investigations.
