UPDATE: Brandon Homicide Suspect Attempts to Solicit Inmates to Kill Prime Witness

UPDATE 2: A murder suspect faces a new charge after attempting to solicit an inmate within the Falkenburg Road Jail to kill a prime witness in his homicide case.

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, detectives arrested Jadon Christian Felix Saunders-Rigueur, now 19, with Solicitation to Commit Murder. A cooperating inmate came forward and presented detectives with information that Saunders-Rigueur was trying to get someone to kill a prime witness in his case. The suspect was already in custody awaiting trial for a homicide in Brandon.

"Rather than taking the time to reflect on his poor actions and feel remorse over his first offense, this man continues to choose a life of crime, going as far as to attempt to cut someone's life short for his perceived gain," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. " It's sickening to see the lengths he will go through to harm others. There is no doubt that the diligent work of our detectives led to this witness's protection."

Saunders-Rigueur remains in custody and is under strict restrictions to protect the witnesses and the integrity of these investigations.

UPDATE 1: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested a teenager for his involvement in the murder of a 16-year-old, on October 1, 2021.

Through investigation, detectives identified Jadon Christian Felix Saunders-Rigueur, 17, as the shooter.

"Unfortunately, a child is dead because of the irresponsible actions of another child, said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This arrest reflects the unwavering dedication of our detectives who worked tirelessly until the suspect was taken into custody. This teen has irreparably impacted the lives of the victim's family as well as his own. He will face the consequences of his actions."

Saunders-Rigueur was taken into custody for 1st Degree Felony Murder while Engaged in Robbery, 3rd Degree Murder with a Firearm, Robbery with a Firearm, and Purchase of Cannabis. He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center without incident.
