The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the death investigation after a fatal shooting.
On January 15, 2025, just after 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to the Circle K located at 11755 County Road in Thonotosassa for reports of a shooting.
Once on scene, deputies located Paul Strickland, 37, with a gunshot wound. Strickland was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Through investigative means, detectives determined two-time convicted felon, Dean Henderson, 38, as the shooter.
On January 16, 2025, Henderson was taken into custody after an arrest warrant was obtained and is now facing the following charges:
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
