The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in the Lutz area.
At approximately 3 a.m., deputies were called to a home on the 14000 block of N 30th Street for reports of shots fired. The incident appears to have occurred during a house party. When deputies arrived, no victim was located on scene. Approximately 20 minutes later, deputies were notified of an adult male who arrived at the Advent Health ER with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
"We are still working to piece together the details about what led up to this shooting, and we are asking witnesses to come forward to help provide those answers," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Anyone with information related to this incident can speak with a detective by calling 813-247-8200."
