A suspect with a warrant for a fatal hit-and-run in Gibsonton has been arrested in Pasco County.
On December 13, 2024, Pasco Sheriff's Office arrested Jonathan Saldana Rojas, 27, a wanted suspect, in a fatal hit-and-run that took place on December 11, 2024, in Gibsonton.
"The arrest of this suspect highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies. We are grateful for the partnership and swift action of the Pasco Sheriff's Office in arresting this wanted individual," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This case is a testament to how working together can bring justice to the victim and their family."

UPDATE: December 12, 2024, 4 p.m.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash.
On December 11, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a fatal traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Symmes Road and Southwind Lake Drive in Gibsonton. The collision involved a white sedan turning left onto Symmes Road when it collided with a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Isaiah Raposa, 18, was transported to the hospital but later pronounced deceased. The driver of the white sedan fled from the scene.
Through Investigative means, detectives located the white sedan and identified the driver as Jonathan Saldana Rojas, 27.
Saldana Rojas is currently wanted on the following charges:
- Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Death
- No Valid Driver's License (1st Offense)
"Every life lost on our roads is a tragedy, and in this case, the victim's life was taken far too soon," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Now that we know the name of the driver responsible for this fatal hit-and-run, our focus is on locating him. I urge anyone who has information about his whereabouts to come forward. Your help is critical in ensuring justice is served and bringing closure to the victim's family."

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident.
On December 11, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., an adult male riding a motorcycle and an unknown vehicle were involved in a crash at the intersection of Symmes Road and Southwind Lake Drive in Gibsonton. The individual driving the vehicle fled from the scene.
The adult male driving the motorcycle was transported to the hospital but was later pronounced deceased.
