A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been arrested for stalking.

Deputy Andrew Brown, 39, assigned to the Department of Patrol Services, was arrested on July 17, 2026.

Detectives conducted an investigation following reports of misconduct.

On July 7, 2026, at 10:22 p.m., Deputy Brown conducted a traffic stop on the victim and obtained her phone number.  Following the traffic stop, Brown sent the victim continuous unwanted messages, even after being blocked.

Brown is now facing one charge of Stalking.

Brown has been employed with HCSO for nine months. He has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigation.

"When someone puts on our uniform, they take on a responsibility to serve with integrity. The badge is a symbol of trust, and this deputy betrayed that trust,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “That is a violation of everything HCSO stands for, and it makes me furious. We will hold him accountable, just as we would anyone else who breaks the law.”

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
