On January 24, 2026, at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a residential burglary on West Kenyon Avenue after homeowners returned home and reported the break-in.
It was discovered that a sliding glass door was shattered and the house had been ransacked. A personal safe, jewelry, and firearms were determined to be stolen, valued at approximately $137,000.
Later that day, deputies received a second report of a residential burglary at a home approximately five miles away on Osage Drive. Video surveillance from the incidents identified the vehicle believed to be involved in both burglaries.
On January 27, 2026, deputies located the vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate 75 near the Sun City Center Boulevard exit and conducted a traffic stop, which resulted in the arrest of three unauthorized aliens.
The driver, Juan Gabriel Caicedo Chasoy, 39, was unable to produce a valid driver’s license and was arrested for No Valid Driver’s License. Further investigation revealed he has a final order of deportation, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on him.
His passenger, Jhon Alex Riasco Vergara, 33, presented a driver’s license with a false name and date of birth. He was arrested and charged with two counts of Fugitive Warrant, two counts of Unauthorized Use or Possession of a Fraudulent ID Card, False Information to Law Enforcement Officer, and Displaying a Fraudulent ID Card. An ICE detainer was also placed on him.
Detectives determined Riasco Vergara was responsible for committing the burglary in Hillsborough County days prior. He has since been charged locally with Armed Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling and Grand Theft Over $100,000.
The third passenger, Louis Ramon Monseque, 35, identified himself using fraudulent identification documents. Detectives later confirmed his true identity and discovered multiple active felony warrants out of Texas for residential burglaries, as well as warrants from the state of Washington for Burglary, Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.
Monseque was charged with False Name to Law Enforcement Officer and Possession of Cannabis Less Than 20 Grams. Monseque also has a final order of deportation, and ICE placed a detainer on him.
All three men are citizens of the Republic of Colombia. Caicedo Chasoy and Monseque have since been released to ICE, while Riasco Vergara remains in jail pending several criminal charges, as well as under an ICE detainer, all pursuant to Section 287(g) of federal law.
“This case demonstrates how our deputies enforce the law and follow established procedures to hold offenders accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our deputies identified and charged one suspect responsible for a major residential burglary here in Hillsborough County. All three individuals were held on ICE detainers, and two have since been released to ICE to ensure they cannot return to our streets.”
