HCSO Detectives Identify Bank Robber

John Charles Anderson has been arrested in Michigan by the U.S. Marshals.

UPDATE 1/20/22:

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect connected to a Carrollwood bank robbery.

On January 14, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m. a male suspect entered the SunTrust Bank located at 12902 N Dale Mabry Highway. The male suspect pointed a firearm at a bank teller and demanded cash. The teller provided an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot, westbound through the parking lot.

Upon issuing the alert last week, HCSO received a tip. Detectives followed up on the tip and were able to positively identify the suspect as John Charles Anderson DOB 07/21/83. Anderson was also positively identified by family/friends as the subject in the alert.

Anderson's whereabouts are currently unknown. Anderson previously served time for another bank robbery in another state. The FBI currently has a federal warrant for his arrest and is searching for Anderson.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery in Carrollwood. 
 
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on January 14, 2022, a suspect entered the SunTrust Bank located at 12902 N Dale Mabry Highway. The male suspect pointed a firearm at a bank teller and demanded cash. The teller provided an undisclosed amount of money, then the suspect fled on foot, westbound through the parking lot.
 
Deputies are currently searching for a white adult male, with possible tattoos on his left hand. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
 
“Thankfully no one was injured during this incident,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I am urging anyone who recognizes this person, or anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us immediately.”
