The free, family fun event is a chance for children to pick their own pumpkin and decorate a gourd with a deputy! Children are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Face painting stations will be on site in addition to candy, popcorn and ice cream for families, all free of charge.
"With the help of our community partners, we want to provide a safe place for children and their families to celebrate the season," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This event is also a chance for deputies to connect with parents ahead of Halloween night and remind them of the rules, like checking their children's candy and making sure their costumes are safe for trick-or-treating."
Sheriff Chad Chronister's Great Pumpkin Patch is happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, October 26, at 2008 East 8th Avenue in Tampa.
