The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation surrounding the death of an inmate.
An inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail was discovered unresponsive by staff on July 4, 2024, just after 8:30 p.m. The inmate was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminarily, it appears the inmate suffered a medical incident.
The inmate's identification will be provided once the Next of Kin notification has been completed.
The investigation is ongoing. The Public Affairs Office will release any further updates.
