Death investigation in Wimauma

A double shooting at a home in Wimauma is being investigated as a murder-suicide.


Two adults were found shot to death inside a home on the 15000 block of Carlton Lake Road shortly after 7 p.m.on Friday, October 25. One family member was inside the home at the time of the incident and called 911.

The deceased victim, Cassandra Cagle, 41, was shot to death by her husband, Lawrence Cagle, 57, during an argument inside their mobile home. Cagle shot and killed himself shortly after shooting his wife.
 
No further information is availalble at this time.

UPDATE 1:

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is working a death investigation at a home on Carlton Lake Road in Wimauma. 
 
Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, October 25, deputies received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a mobile home on the 15000 block of Carlton Lake Road. Deputies arrived to find an adult male and an adult female deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
 
One other person was inside the home at the time of the incident and called 911. The caller was not injured, and it's unclear if the caller witnessed the shootings.
 
Additional information on the two people found deceased is not being released at this time, as detectives work to notify their next of kin and gain a search warrant to enter the home and gather evidence.
 
The incident does not appear to be random, and detectives do not believe there is a threat to the public.
