Fourth of July DUI Operation: 45 Arrested

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Tampa Police Department and the Temple Terrace Police Department, conducted a Fourth of July weekend DUI enforcement effort to target impaired drivers and keep our community safe.

The multi-agency operation took place from Thursday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6, 2025, a period when roadways experience increased traffic due to holiday celebrations.

Throughout the three-days, deputies and officers conducted proactive patrols throughout Hillsborough County, focusing on identifying and removing impaired drivers before they could cause harm.

“If you drive drunk in Hillsborough County, expect to be arrested,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “There’s no excuse for driving under the influence, especially during a holiday when families are out enjoying their time together. Thanks to the efforts of our deputies and law enforcement partners, we stopped dozens of drivers who made reckless choices."

DUI Operation Results:

  • Traffic Stops: 303
  • Warnings: 246
  • Traffic Citations: 47
  • DUI Arrests: 45
  • Other Arrests: 3
