The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man following an investigation that led detectives to discover files of child sexual abuse material on a cell phone inside a Ruskin home.
On June 18, 2026, HCSO's Internet Predator Unit served a search warrant at a home on 9th Street Northeast in Ruskin after determining child pornography was being shared through a social media app.
As detectives were clearing the home, one resident, Maria Olguin-Chavez, 51, physically resisted and attempted to strike detectives.
During the investigation, detectives seized numerous electronic devices, including a cell phone belonging to Abelino Clavel-Olguin, 26. He repeatedly refused lawful commands to provide his passcode and attempted to delete potential evidence from his device. When detectives attempted to place Clavel-Olguin under arrest, he also physically resisted and struck a detective multiple times.
Detectives also completed a search of a device belonging to a third resident, Misael Clavel, 22, which revealed files of child sexual abuse material. Detectives also located two files depicting sexual activity involving an animal.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested the following three individuals:Misael Clavel is charged with:
- Solicitation or Possession of Child Pornography 10 or More Images and Content of Images (x100)
- Film, Distribute, or Possess Video or Image of Sexual Activity with an Animal (x2)
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device
- Obstruction of Service or Execution of Search Warrant
- Resisting Officer with Violence
- Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer
- Resisting Officer with Violence
- Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer
