Two Motorcyclists Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop

Two motorcyclists learned that running from deputies is not a successful strategy.

On June 13, 2026, two motorcycles fled from a traffic stop in the Brandon area. With assistance from the Aviation Unit, deputies were able to safely track both riders from above as they attempted to evade law enforcement.

One rider, Christopher Cruzcolon, 30, abandoned his motorcycle and ran through a storage facility before being taken into custody.

The second rider, Megan Lynne Bateman, 35, continued fleeing until a train blocked her path. Bateman then ran along nearby railroad tracks before falling into bushes, where deputies took her into custody.

Thanks to teamwork between the Aviation Unit and deputies on the ground, both suspects were arrested.
