The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a student at Webb Middle School for bringing a knife onto school grounds.
On April 22, 2025, school administrators received a tip regarding a student possibly in possession of a weapon.
An administrative search was conducted, during which a switchblade-style knife was found inside the student's backpack.
The student, Didier Ocupa Alvarado, 13, admitted to bringing the knife to school and was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Property.
"There is absolutely no place for weapons on our school campuses," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Thanks to the vigilance of school staff and the courage of those who reported it, a potentially dangerous situation was quickly addressed. We will always prioritize the safety of our students and staff."
This is an active investigation. Any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
