The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation in the Progress Village area.
On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, just before midnight, HCSO's Communication Center received a call from a concerned citizen in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Progress Village Recreational Center, located at 8701 Progress Bouelvard.
When deputies arrived they discovered a deceased male inside a vehicle who had suffered upper body trauma. At this time, deputies are working to identify the victim and make the appropriate notifications to his family.
The investigation is in the early stages and detectives are asking for any information that may assist them in determining what led up to this incident.
"Our deputies will work through the night and morning to process the scene and collect evidence that will help paint a clearer picture of what happened and who is responsible for this man's death," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
