EIGHT-TIME CONVICTED FELON ARRESTED AFTER PROBATION SEARCH

The arrest comes as a result of a joint operation with HCSO and Florida Department of Corrections. The HCSO wanted to make sure that people on probation were meeting all their requirements. As part of the operation, HCSO performed a search warrant at 6915 Silver Run Drive, Apartment 201, Tampa, FL.

During the search, loaded extended 9mm magazines were discovered in Camarion Richardson's room during the probation search.

Detectives located a firearm which was later confirmed to be reported stolen from Plant City Police Department jurisdiction in March of this year.

Richardson, 19, was subsequently charged with eight counts of Violation of Probation:

  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle (X2)

  • Burglary of Dwelling (X2)

  • Battery of Law Enforcement Officer

  • Grand Theft

  • Criminal Mischief

  • Carjacking

In addition to the VOP charges, Richardson faces new charges for Felon in Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition and Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams.

"We remain committed to ensuring the safety of our community. Our dedicated team of detectives works tirelessly to enforce FDOC probation requirements and hold individuals accountable for their actions," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We will continue to pursue those who threaten our community and bring them to justice."

This is an ongoing investigation. Further details will come from the Public Affairs Office.
