The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting active threat training exercises on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at two major shopping centers in Hillsborough County.
The training will take place at Brandon Exchange and Citrus Park Mall to ensure deputies and first responders are prepared for any potential threats to public safety.
Residents and businesses in the area can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence, including marked patrol vehicles, tactical units, and emergency responders. The training will be conducted starting at 9 p.m. to minimize disruptions to the general public.
“This training is a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to prepare for and respond to critical incidents,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors, and this realistic exercise allows our deputies to sharpen their skills in a controlled environment.”
HCSO encourages the public to remain aware of the scheduled training and assures the community that all safety precautions will be in place throughout the exercises.
The Public Affairs Office will provide any additional information on this training exercise.
