UPDATE: Detectives identify and arrest suspects in Valrico homicide

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an overnight homicide in Valrico this week.

Henry McGall IV, 18, and his younger sister, Madison, 15, were arrested and charged with Murder In The First Degree While Engaged In A Robbery.

Late Wednesday night, the siblings were involved in a drug transaction in the 4000 block of Fontana Place in Valrico. The victim had driven to Fontana Place, and while remaining in the car, began communicating with Madison McGall who was standing outside of it. At approximately 10:30 p.m., a witness advised that a deal had been agreed upon between the victim and Madison. However, instead of following through with the transaction, Madison attempted to rob the victim. Moments later, Henry McGall approached the driver's side of the vehicle, raised a handgun, and fired one shot into the car, hitting the victim.

After the victim was struck by gunfire, the victim attempted to drive toward Brandon Regional Hospital. At some point, a witness who was in the car with the victim, switched seats with the victim so the witness could continue the drive to the hospital. The victim was dead upon arrival.

Throughout the course of Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant, conducted several interviews and processed evidence from the neighborhood where the shooting took place. Through investigative means, they identified both Henry and Madison McGall as the suspects.

"Any loss of life is tragic, it's even worse when it involves two young people who made such a horrible choice," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "I'm thankful that our detectives were able to identify these two individuals and have them under arrest within 24 hours."

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
