The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested 19 individuals during a proactive operation to enhance our community safety.
On Halloween day, October 31, 2024, HCSO's Street Crimes Unit conducted an operation across Hillsborough County to address crime and ensure public safety.
The results of the operation include:
- Arrests: 19
- Stolen Firearms Recovered: 1
One notable arrest occurred at 9:14 p.m. when deputies observed a black Tesla committing a traffic infraction and fleeing the traffic stop.
HCSO's Aviation Section and patrol units conducted surveillance on the vehicle driven by Jhamare Jones, 20. Minutes later, Jones parked the car on a side street before running on foot, and with guidance from our Aviation Section, deputies located and arrested Jones.
Upon further investigation, deputies found multiple blank checks in Jones' vehicle. Deputies also learned that Jones had active Orange County warrants for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Scheme to Defraud.
"This operation demonstrates our commitment to proactive enforcement to ensure our community is safe for families," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "The message is clear: this behavior will not be tolerated in Hillsborough County."
He is now facing several charges:
- Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
- Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Resisting Officer Without Violence
- Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification of Another
- Out of County Warrant- Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
- Out of County Warrant - Scheme to Defraud
This is an active investigation; any update will come from the Public Affairs Office.
