The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a homicide in Tampa.
On October 9, 2024, at 3:03 a.m. HCSO's 911 center received a call of a shooting on the 8000 block of Dreher Park Lane, located within the Cross Creek Apartments.
Upon arrival, deputies located Chad Alexander, 28 inside a vehicle with upper body trauma. He was immediately transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives are actively investigating, gathering potential video surveillance, and conducting neighborhood interviews.
"Even amidst this storm, our detectives remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice for the victim, leaving no stone unturned," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We encourage anyone with information about this homicide to come forward and assist in the investigation."
