The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation following the death of an inmate.
On July 31, 2025, at 5:25 p.m., detention deputies at Falkenburg Road Jail found inmate Gary Grider, 57, unresponsive in his bed. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
HCSO is conducting a death investigation and will follow up with the Medical Examiner’s Office for an official cause of death. Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing. The Public Affairs Office will release any further updates.
