The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three individuals and recovered multiple firearms, narcotics, and ammunition following a search warrant in Tampa.

On September 23, 2025, deputies and HCSO's SWAT Team served a court-authorized search warrant at a residence on East Grove Avenue. After multiple commands were given, the occupants eventually exited the home and surrendered into custody.

The individuals were identified and are facing the following charges:

David Green III, 24

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Trafficking in Cocaine (200-400 grams)
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Delivery of Cocaine
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Deliver Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
  • Resisting an Officer without Violence
  • Keeping a Public Nuisance Structure for Drug Activity

Kemry Stargell, 35 

  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver
  • Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver Resisting an Officer without Violence
  • Out of County Warrant PC/VOP Grand Theft $5KL/$10K

Melvin Fowler, 33

  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Felon in Possession of Ammunition
  • Resisting an Officer without Violence

The search of the residence also led deputies to a vehicle on the property. Among the items discovered was a Smith & Wesson handgun reported stolen in Hillsborough County. In total, the following items were recovered:

  • Taurus handgun
  • Smith and Wesson handgun (Reported stolen to HCSO)
  • Beretta handgun 
  • Firestorm handgun 
  • 277.9 grams of crack cocaine 
  • 520.5 grams of marijuana and sativa resin

“Those who bring illegal narcotics and guns into our neighborhoods will be met with the full force of law enforcement,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the swift actions of our deputies and teams, these dangerous criminals are off the streets, and we will continue to pursue anyone who threatens the safety of Hillsborough County.”

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
