A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigation has resulted in a man being charged with murder following a fatal overdose in Riverview.
On November 19, 2023, deputies responded to a residence on Hancock Street after receiving a call about a medical emergency. Upon arrival, deputies located Jordan Johnson, 23, unresponsive. Johnson was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.
Through investigative means, detectives identified Quadrian Harris, 32, as the individual responsible for supplying the narcotics. On November 30, 2023, Harris was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Fentanyl (4–14 grams) and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
At the time of his arrest, Harris was in possession of an additional 14 grams of fentanyl. He was released on bond on December 2, 2023.
The investigation remained ongoing, and in April 2024, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed that the controlled substances collected in the case tested positive for fentanyl.
Detectives presented the findings to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, which approved a charge of First-Degree Murder resulting from the Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
On May 6, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Harris in the City of Tampa. He was taken into custody without incident.
“This arrest is a reminder that drug dealers who poison our communities with deadly substances will be held accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This was not just a drug deal. It was a deadly transaction that cost a young man his life. We remain committed to pursuing justice for every victim and their loved ones.”
This is an active investigation. Any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
