Man throws nunchucks in road rage incident

Shortly after noon on Saturday, October 26, Leonardo Fernandez, 56, was involved in a road rage incident near the intersection of W Linebaugh Avenue and Sheldon Road.

 
Fernandez got out of his vehicle and threw a pair of nunchucks at the victim's vehicle while stopped at a traffic light. The nunchucks shattered the victim's rear window.

According to the victim, Fernandez cut him off in a white van while driving on W Linebaugh Avenue. The victim said he pulled up next to Fernandez in his car and gestured to Fernandez to put his phone down, because he believed he was texting and driving. The victim said Fernandez became enraged and started driving recklessly before both parties were stopped at a traffic light and Fernandez exited his vehicle with nunchucks.

Fernandez was arrested for Throwing a Deadly Missile into an Occupied Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, and Violation of Probation. His booking photo and photos of the damaged vehicle are below.
